TSV Havelse – who are they?
Well for starters TSV Havelse are the hosts of 1.FCN in the first round of the DFB Pokal 2012-13, the German FA Cup.
The 2007 winners will visit TSV Havelse sometime between Friday 17th and Monday 20th August at their Wilhelm-Langrehr-Stadion in the northern town of Garbsen, just a few kilometres north-west of Hannover.
It will be an opportunity for Glubb to avenge the 1991 4-2 penalties defeat at the hands of the ‘Pelikans’.
Travelling Glubberer can expect a tight squeeze in Garbsen - the stadium has a capacity of 3,500, and there are sure to many people interested in seeing whether the Lower Saxony club can repeat the giant killing of 21 years ago. Let’s hope that 1.FCN can hold firm against the Regionlliga Nord team, and make a good start to a cup campaign that ends in victory in the final in Berlin in 1st June 2013.
